euthanasia

When I hear something about the word “euthanasia”, I always think in people who are very ill and people who want to die to rest from his suffering. They are people who are terminally ill. But I remember a couple of cases where the doctor errs in the diagnostic andthey have classified as a terminally ill a person with a disease treatable and even a curable disease.

Respect a famous case of euthanasia, I only remember about a movie called “Million Dollar Baby”, which is about a boxer-woman who accidentally get quadriplegic, after that event she wants to kill herself and request the help of her trainer. After a lot of failed attempts, the trainer helps her and disconnects the mechanical ventilator. He did that because he thought it will be the best for her.

I think euthanasia is a complicated issue, because in some way all the opinions are valid but maybe you will change your mind if you are in the case. For example if my husband gets ill and the doctors say he is terminally ill I will do all I can, for save his life.

I don't believe in any religion, but in the previous paragraph I explain my option about the euthanasia.

Finally I don’t agree with the civil laws about that issue, I think nobody should take that decision for you

Mary and Max

I usually see movies in my house with my husband every weekend, we always watch them online or download from the internet, and we never rent or shop movies. In case there is a good movie on the cinema, we go there to watch it.

From all the movies i've seen, i liked Mery and Max, it's a drama that talks about a girl who has no friends and their partners make fun of her in ther school, while her mother is an alcoholic. One day, when she is feeling alone, a stranger started to write to her who has a psyquiatryc illness, the asperger's desease. Later, they started a friendly relationship.

I like it because there the director shows a good representation of the inner world of each character. This movie i saw it two years ago. I'm going to recomend it to my students of psychiatry.

About the movies i dislike, i would say all the movies of the terror gender because after seen them i can't sleep, they get me pretty scared.

Now, in regard of a movie about my life, i can say that it would be a drama about self-improvement, serious in sad moments, but in others very happy and joyful. It would be an awarded film.

I hope you all going to see it when it's release.

In this semester

In this new semester, I ´m going to finish my career and also the next year is going to be my internship. But this semester is going to finish in the summer. I accept that last,  Because my husband is going to work all summer and we will go our vacation in March.

In the current semester I have taken subjects  that I considered very interesting. My favorite subject is Freudian Theory. I think Freud´s theory is the most complete and best prepared in the field of psychology, because I think the way of thinking of Freud is very logic but not easy to understand.

I have taken five more subjects  , one more of Freud, two on psychological evaluation,  one of English and one on Chilean education.

Me Marry

After nine years of relationship with my boyfriend, we decided to get married…

Is very easy for me to say: “yes I do”, but now I have to organize the wedding party

Now I'll tell you how I have organized my wedding party.

first, on 3^th January, I had to reserve the church

then I had to telephone to different hotels and asked for the cost per person for the wedding reception, then I went to visit all the hotels that interested me, but all were very expensive.

In March, three friends came to my house and I asked:
Do you want to be my bridesmaids?
and they told me yes.

In April, I bought my beautiful wedding dress, I loved it, now I have to buy high-heel shoes.

 In the month of May I found the place to celebrate my wedding party. It is a beautiful place, has many trees, is big and clean, the food menu is pretty good and isn’t expensive.

Now I'm stressful because I have many tests and assignments in college and I haven’t finished the invitations for the marriage and it should have delivered yesterday, that makes me a little sad, anxious and nervous.

and the worst is that now I have to:
find a hairdresser, makeup artist, photographer, decorations for the church choir for the church, wedding dresses, wedding bands, souvenirs for wedding guests and other activities

Concluding

Organizing a wedding is stressful, especially if you are a college student. But if you have the support of your boyfriend, your family and friends, all can be very entertaining and you can enjoy it.

PS3

I am going to talk of my favorite piece of technology.

PS3 (play station 3) is a video game console, designed by Sony.

With the PS3 I can play and have a lot of fun.

My boyfriend (Gerardo) bought the PS3 when he sold his PS2, he also bought me a guitar to play guitar hero. I like games as "need for speed" and "guitar hero legends of rock",

but I prefer the "Donkey Kong", "Mario Bros" and "Mario Kart", these games are only for Nintendo Wii.

I use the PS3 for fun, the fun is important to me, for that I like the PS3.
I play only on weekends while I'm in class, but on my summer vacation I play every day.

My life without the PS3 will not change much, because I always

find something to do with my time. 



my favorite superhero

Professor X

Charles Xavier is a very powerful mutant, his mutant power is to read, control and influence the minds of others humans or mutants. When he increased his powers he lost the ability to walk.

He created an institute for young mutants, where the goal was to explore, control their powers and learn stuffs in peace.

Xavier's best friend was a Magnet, but then he transformed into his worst enemy and is for this reason why they fight a lot, but they respect each other. The conflict is start because Magnet believes that mutants are superior to humans and should dominate and exterminate mankind.

I like this superhero because he has powers, mainly to read and control the mind, as well change or erase memories. I think it's a great power.

Finally the values it represents and that are important to me is the respect for others, especially the respect for other races.

The journal of neorology has many topics in common with the psychology, in fact the connection is neuropsychology. The neuropsychology is a discipline between psychology and neurology.

Neuropsychology

Studies the effects of lesions or damages on the central nervous system (CNS) over the cognitive, psychological, emotional processes and individual behavior. These effects or deficits can be caused by TEC, brain tumors, neurodegenerative diseases (as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson's disease) or developmental diseases (as epilepsy or attention).

This website has different papers about many topics, for example: sleep, dementia, pain or alteration of consciousness. I visit this website one a week, I like reading about different issues about neurology. For example I enjoy the paper “The personality affects brain aging” in which the author make associations between different variables, specifically between personality and brain aging.

There is another paper called “a brief cognitive test battery to differentiate Alzheimer´s disease and frontotemporal dementia” in which the author compare two test: “addenbrooke´s cognitive examination” (which is used for exclude frontotemporal dementia) and “Dementia rating scale” (which is used in the diagnostic of Alzheimer´s disease).

My name es Carolina Morgado, I`m a student of psychology in the faculty of social sciences at the University of Chile. I`m in my four year.

My secundary school was “Liceo 7 de providencia” Later I studied engineering at the university of Concepciòn in 2003, then in 2004 I studied a bachelor`s degree in social sciences ans humanities, and actualy I`m stadyn pychology.

My favorite Movie is 50 first dates

My favorite movie is 50 first dates,
 is a romantic comedy,

and was released in 2004.
In stars Adam Sadler and Drew Darrymore.

I like this movie because it`s so funny, and makes me laugh, but not only that, also I feel sad and cry. It´s strange because it´s a romantic-comedy ¡¡¡¡¡.

I think because the romantic scenas have always excited me since I was a chid... every time I watch  more like it. It relaxes me, I don´t think it´s a good idea to watch horror or war movies, because is very stressful.

In the film henry (Adam Sadler) is a marine veterinarian and Lucy (Drew Darrymore) is an art teacher. They meet in a restorant. The next day lucy don´t remember Henry, because she has an anterograde amnesia. She can't remember new information, because of an accident in wich she hit his head.

Henry is in love with Lucy, but since she can't remember, he must make her fall in love every day ... the next day and the next day ... as the first time.

 Lucy feels every kiss he gives to her as the "first kiss"

The movie is about the ways in which Henry makes Lucy to fall in love, I won't tell the movie end because I think many of you didn´t see it yet. Here is the link to watch the synopsis.

I recommend this movie especially to those who are in love, I don't recommend it to those who haven´t find a boyfriend or girlfriend yet, because you could find it ridiculous.

I like it very much and I watch it many times.
